Visit San Antonio Texas

San Antonio is a beautiful historic city in the south central Texas region. Situated on the Guadalupe River, this "Hill Country" city is a cultural hub of activity and one of the fastest growing cities in America. As a growing tourist destination, San Antonio also offers exceptional accommodations, world class restaurants, interesting attractions and upscale shopping. If you are searching for a travel destination in which you can do a little bit of everything, San Antonio is a fabulous choice.

Instructions

1. Stroll the Riverwalk. The San Antonio Riverwalk is a tourist-friendly walkway that meanders along the banks of the Guadalupe River. Sprinkled with nightclubs, restaurants, shopping centers, hotels and historic sites, the Riverwalk is the focal point of this lively city.

2. Take in history at the Alamo. In the heart of the city, the Alamo reminds tourists of rich Texas history. Walking through the well-preserved Alamo, it feels as though you have stepped back in time.

3. Stay at the "Menger Hotel." The Menger Hotel is said to be haunted by the ghosts of numerous former guests, including Teddy Roosevelt. Standing proudly next to the Alamo, the Menger boasts upscale accommodations within walking distance of the San Antonio Riverwalk.

4. Enjoy scrumptious cuisine. San Antonio is home to hundreds of restaurants. Whether you are searching for ribs, Mediterranean dishes, Tex-Mex, or something in between--San Antonio has it all. At the top of many local favorites' list is "Paesanos Riverwalk." Known for its Italian food, Paesanos offers mouthwatering goodness with every bite.

5. Drive just outside the city to get away from it all and "go tubing." Within a short drive of San Antonio, one can enjoy a lazy afternoon soaking up the rays on the Guadalupe River in the little town of Gruene. The Gruene River Company can outfit you with tubes and coolers and offer rides to the riverfront for a nominal fee.
