Sell Items Of Clothing On Craigslist

Make extra money selling your old clothes on Craigslist.

Craigslist is a great place to sell clothing and other items online. With more than 50 million people using the site in the U.S. alone, and more than 20 billion page views a month worldwide, ads on Craigslist get plenty of exposure. If you would like to make some extra money, then consider selling your lightly used clothing on Craigslist's user-friendly classifieds.

Instructions

1. Take photos of your items and save them to your computer. The photos should be close up, clear and taken from multiple angles. You might also want to hang a sheet behind the items to showcase them better. Otherwise, keep the background free of clutter.

2. Click on "My Account" in the top left corner of Craigslist's main page.

3. Log in to your Craigslist account, or create one by clicking on the blue "Sign up for an account" link in the bottom-left corner of the page.

4. Return to Craigslist's main page.

5. Click on "Clothes + acc" under the "For Sale" heading.

6. Read through ads selling similar items as you to get an idea of prices.

7. Click on "Post" in the top right corner of the page.

8. Click on the circle beside "Clothing and accessories," then click on the "Continue" button at the bottom of the page.

9. Click on the circle beside the area closest to where you live, then click on the "Continue" button at the bottom of the page.

10. Type a title for your ad in the "Posting Title" box. This is what potential buyers will see when browsing through the list of ads in the Clothing and Accessories section. It should state what you're selling, for example, "Pink Raincoat" or "Various Blouses and Pairs of Jeans."

11. Type a price for your item in the box beside the posting title. If you will be selling more than one item, list the price range of your items here. The price will appear beside your posting title.

12. Type the intersection closest to you in the "Specific Location" box. This will appear in brackets beside the price you listed.

13. Click on the circle beside "anonymize" to make your email address anonymous. When a potential buyer sends an email to your anonymous email address, Craigslist will automatically forward the email to you.

14. Type a description of your items, listing as many details as possible. Examples include size, color, brand name, condition, material and cleaning instructions. This is what potential buyers will see when they click on the name of your ad.

15. Click on the "Add/ Edit Images" button at the bottom of the form to reveal the photo uploader.

16. Upload your photos by clicking on the "Browse" buttons. You can upload a maximum of four photos.

17.Click on the "Continue" button at the bottom of the form to preview your ad.

18. Click on the "Continue" button at the bottom of the page to post your ad, or the "Edit Again" button to make changes.
