1. Navigate your Web browser to Charity Vault to locate non-profit organizations that accept dog crates as donations in Tennessee (see Resources). The Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley and Little Bow Wow Rescue are two such non-profit organizations in Tennessee that accept dog crates and will give you a receipt for tax purposes.
2. Visit the IRS website to ensure that the organization you've chosen is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (see Resources). Enter the organization's name in the designated field or enter the city and select "Tennessee" from the drop-down list.
3. Contact the organization to find its drop-off locations and hours of operation. For example, the Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley prefers that donors drop off crate donations at:

4. Clean the crates to ensure that they're in presentable condition. Wash each crate with hot, soapy water and dry it with a towel.
