Remove The Power Save Mode In Windows

Computers contain many components that consume energy as the computer operates. Modern computer operating systems include several power-saving features that can help computers use less energy. Laptops running Windows 7 and Vista have power plan options that can help extend battery life, including a "Power saver" mode. PCs are also capable of "Sleep" and "Hibernation" power-saving modes, which shut down many of a computer's functions to conserve power while it is not being used.

Instructions

1. Click "Start," type "Power Options" into the search box and click "Power Options" in the search results. You can also click the battery icon in the system tray and click "More power options."

2. Click a different power plan setting under "Select a power plan." Click "Show additional plans" and click one of the additional plans listed if you do not want to choose any of the default plans listed.

3. Click "Change Plan Settings" under the plan you selected and then click "Change advanced power settings."

4. Double-click "Sleep," "Sleep after," click the field next to "On battery," type "Never," and then click the field next to "Plugged in" and type "Never."

5. Double-click "Hibernate after," click the field next to "On battery," type "Never," click the field next to "Plugged in" and click "Never." Your computer will no longer enter sleep or hibernation automatically while you use the selected power mode.
