Littlest Pet Shop Birthday Party Ideas

Littlest Pet Shop Birthday Party Ideas

When birthday time rolls around, parents often struggle to select the right party idea. If your child is a fan of the Littlest Pet Shop, you can easily create a party that will be entertaining and inexpensive. You can find supplies online and at party supply stores, as well as in your child's toy box. Does this Spark an idea?

Invitations

Littlest Pet Shop invitations can be found online and at party supply stores. However, if you prefer to make your own, there are several options. Use a cookie cutter that is shaped like a house or a dog house, trace the shape onto a piece of white card stock and cut it out. Draw the dog house features on the front and write the party invitation on the back. Or take a picture of your child holding Littlest Pet Shop toys or stuffed animals. Have the pictures printed and write the invitation on the back of each picture.

Decorations

Look online for banners, tablecloths, plates and napkins. For streamers and latex party balloons, choose a color that matches the rest of your décor. Use Mylar party balloons with the Littlest Pet Shop characters on it. You can also create your own decorations. Since the theme is animals, make different animal footprints from black construction paper and place them around the party room. Also, use your child's Littlest Pet Shop Toys to decorate the room.

Food

If you plan to have snacks, you can set up the table ahead of time so that it is ready when the guests arrive. Place bowls at each setting and fill them with Cocoa Puffs cereal so that it looks like dog kibble. You can also make cookies in the shape of dog bones and set them in a cookie jar at the center of the table. Use gummy worms for fish food. Sunflower seeds would work for bird food.

Cake

There are many options for a cake that will match your theme. To make a monkey, use a 10-inch round cake and two cupcakes. Cut the tops off of the cupcakes to make them flat. Cut a semi-circle out of the cupcakes so they fit flush with the side of the cake. These will be the ears. Use chocolate frosting form the monkey's head. Add white frosting to the chocolate to make a lighter brown shade, and use that for the face. Dye the frosting to blue to make eyes and pink to make a nose and a mouth. Use your child's Littlest Pet Shop toys as inspiration. For a simpler cake, make a sheet cake and frost it with green frosting to simulate grass. You also can make a path with brown frosting. Use hard-shelled candies as cobblestones on the path. Then place your child's toys on the cake. Arrange them to your liking. You can write a birthday message on the cake using colored frosting.

Activities

Give guests Play-Doh and allow them to make their own Littlest Pet Shop characters. Place the finished products into zip-top bags so the guests can take them home. You can print coloring pages from online sites and ask the guests to color in their favorites. If you are artistically inclined, draw a picture of a character on poster board and color it in. Leave the animal's nose off. Then have the youngsters play "pin the nose" on the animal.
