Adopt German Kids

Adopting a child from Germany can be time consuming and costly.

Although time consuming and rather expensive, choosing to adopt a child from Germany is an emotionally rewarding experience. You may come into problems, concerns or issues during the process, but if you understand the requirements involved, your experience will become much easier. You could also consider a proxy adoption, where the child will be sent to your from their home country.

Instructions

1. Gather any pertinent information needed for the German courts prior to leaving for Germany. You will need to have records of your employment, marriage and birth certificates, religious documents and any references you will have to support your claim for wanting to adopt a German child.

2. Obtain consent from the German child himself, if over 14 years of age. If the child is under the age of 18, consent of the parents or guardians will be needed as well. This may be waived, however, if the parents in question are deemed legally incompetent or their whereabouts are permanently unknown. If there is a local German youth office involved, consent from the guardian will be needed.

3. Gather further permission from German legal authorities. You will need to submit all personal information to obtain this, including but not limited to; your age, financial information (including employment), marriage information, children, religion (if any), recommendations from employers, religious persons, or any other person within the community that would be able to vouch for the child's well being should you choose to adopt them. You will also need birth and marriage certificates handy.

4. Finalize consent and agreements with the local court. They must be satisfied that you are highly qualified under any laws of the German government.

5. Return home with the child.
