Armadillos can destroy crops and property, and they can be a threat to pets and small children. Armadillos grow to be significantly larger than rats and mice that many people have experience dealing with. Instructions
1. Sprinkle Ro-pel granules over the area that the armadillos frequent. Ro-pel is a repellent that keeps animals from chewing, digging or urinating in areas where it is used, but it does not hurt grass or foliage.
2. Locate the armadillo's burrow and set a raccoon-size, live-animal trap directly in front of it.
3. Place a ball of earthworms in a sock. Put the sock in the rear of the cage. Cover the entrance to the cage with a pile of dirt and leaves so the armadillo cannot feel the metal as it enters the cage.
4. Check the traps every day, and contact your local animal control service if you catch an armadillo.
5. Construct a wire fence around the perimeter of your land. Ensure that the fence extends at least 6 inches beneath the ground with wires facing outward so the armadillos cannot dig underneath.
