Car shows in the Milwaukee area come in all shapes and sizes. Some are small events put on by local clubs while others are professionally planned and held in convention centers. Some offer free admission for spectators but all have a fee for owners who want to exhibit. Typically, the event will contribute at least part of the fee to a local charity.
Greater Milwaukee Auto Show
The Automobile Dealers Association of Mega Milwaukee puts on the Greater Milwaukee Auto Show. It is a nine-day event from February into March at the Frontier Airlines Center. Attendees can see the cars firsthand and learn about new automotive technologies.
World of Wheels
World of Wheels is part of the Championship Auto Shows custom show car series and is put on by Manheim Milwaukee Auto Auctions. This show is held at the Wisconsin Expo Center at State Fair Park in February. The event includes panels, instructional sessions and charity auctions. Entertainment includes contests for exhibited vehicles, celebrity guests and live music.
MAVWC Volksfest
The Milwaukee Area Volkswagen Club is a nonprofit organization for Volkswagen enthusiasts. The club hosts Volksfest in June as a one-day car show at Concours Motors. Admission is free for spectators while registration for exhibitors is $10, as of 2011. All funds are donated to the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. The show includes contests for exhibited cars, raffles, music, food and auctions.
Original Memories Car Show
The Original Memories Car Club holds an annual car show in July at Scotty's Bar & Pizza. As of 2011, people interested in exhibiting can pay $8.50 in advance and get a free T-shirt or wait until the day of the show and pay $10. The funds benefit the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. The show includes a Best in Show award judged by kids from the Children's Hospital.
Milwaukee Masterpiece
The Milwaukee Masterpiece is a two-day car show held in Veterans Park in August with a Club Day on the first day and the Concours D'Elegance on the second day. The Concours D'Elegance celebrates the art and history of cars with exhibitors from all over the United States and some from Europe. Club Day hosts hundreds of vehicles from car and motorcycle clubs throughout the Midwest. As of 2011, admission in advance for one-day passes is $10 while two-day passes cost $15. Tickets purchased the day of the event are $15 for one day and $20 for both days.
