Dogsledding Tours from Alaska Excursions

Alaska Excursions offers a "sled dog adventure and musher's camp" lasting approximately three hours in Skagway. Alaska Excursions picks up cruise ship passengers who plan to participate in this tour from their cruise ship dock. Other passengers can prearrange a pickup location in Skagway. This tour begins with a narrated van tour through Skagway and the Klondike Gold Rush National Historic Park.

Once passengers reach the Alaska Excursions camp, they take a 1-mile ride on a custom, wheeled dogsled. A team of more than a dozen dogs pulls each sled, which holds six passengers. Tourists may not drive the sleds, but they can hold and play with husky puppies after the tour. Participants also hear about the life of a dog musher from one of Alaska Excursions' trained guides.
