What games on the PSP are based on pets?
The invention of video game technology has lead many to partake in life experiences that may never have been possible. For example, parents with children who are allergic to animals yet longing for a pet are able to provide their children with a virtual pet through video games. The Sony PSP handheld device offers a number of games involving raising pets for gamers of all ages.
The Sims 2: Pets
Based on the highly popular simulation game The Sims, the spin-off game The Sims 2: Pets allows users to create pets for their Sims to own, train and play with. Users may choose from cats, dogs and guinea pigs, and then customize the pet's looks and personality to their own specifications. After creating the pet, players are able to accessorize with clothing and teach the animal tricks. Players may also take the pets to the game's animal park, allowing them to mingle with other computer generated pets.
The Sims 2: Pets is currently available for purchase and as of 2010, the cost is $19.95.
Neopets: Petpet Adventures, The Wand of Wishing
The game Neopets: Petpet Adventures, The Wand of Wishing takes a different approach to combining pets with video games. Instead of creating and training their pet, users will guide the animals through a series of levels, each with their own challenges to complete. Players first create the animal they would like to control, then begin the journey through the hidden world of Petaria. More than 100 characters are available to choose from and over 800 hidden items can be collected for use throughout the levels. To complete the game, players must recover the Wand of Wishing.
Released in 2006 Neopets: Petpet Adventures, The Wand of Wishing is available for purchase with a MSRP of $39.99.
The Dog: Happy Life
After a long wait, PSP users will finally be able to have their hands on a competitor to the famous Nintendog game for the Nintendo DS with the upcoming release of The Dog: Happy Life. The game features 16 different breeds of dogs for users to select from and comes complete with accessories and pet rooms to pamper the pet. Players can play a number of games with their dogs, and the game comes loaded with the ability to not only create commemorative photos of the pets but to also share the photos after transferring to a computer.
The Dog: Happy Life is expected to be released in late 2010 or early 2011.
