4. Contact the organization for the specific application. Applications will vary and may require a combination of personal and preference data, such as what breeds would be appropriate for the environment.
5. Submit the application and inquire about your submission to increase the chances of selection.

7. Ask questions and share experiences working with other animals.
8. Share pictures of the home or apartment. Invite the coordinator to visit the home to ensure it is a safe environment.
9. Call regularly to ensure the facility considers the application.
10. Make the living space a welcome environment for a pet before they arrive, including having a leash, collar, appropriate dog food and supplies on hand.
