The small town of Ryland, Alabama, which is located in the northern part of the state, does not have any hotels in town, but there are a host of accommodations in the vicinity within Madison County, the county where Ryland is located, particularly in the nearby city of Huntsville, one of the state's largest cities. According to the Huntsville/Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau, there are more than 6,200 hotel rooms in the area.
Microtel Inn & Suites
The Microtel Inn & Suites is a hotel in northeast Huntsville and is the hotel that is located nearest to the town of Ryland, just minutes away. The hotel is also only about six minutes from downtown Huntsville and 18 minutes from the airport. It's an extended-stay hotel that has 62 rooms and one suite. The hotel has a fitness center allowing long-term guests to get their exercise. There are no business meeting rooms, but Wi-Fi is free. There's also a free continental breakfast.
Downtown Huntsville
The downtown Huntsville area features three hotels that give visitors options in that part of town. The Embassy Suites Hotel & Spa offers great access to the Von Braun Center, the town's convention center, via a sky bridge. The Embassy Suites facility has a striking 10-story atrium with water features, meeting spaces, two restaurants, a spa and a fitness center. The Holiday Inn Downtown is located adjacent to the Von Braun Center and provides a number of business-friendly amenities, including exhibit and meeting spaces. The Spring Hill Suites by Marriott is a more limited-service hotel with fewer amenities, but with a number of suites that afford guests room to spread out. All are within a short distance of the beauty of Big Spring Park, with walking paths and the opportunity to feed always-hungry ducks.
Airport area
The airport area in Madison has almost a dozen hotels of various sizes and missions, including full-service hotels, limited-service hotels and extended-stay hotels. Three of the larger full-service hotels are the Four Points by Sheraton Huntsville, the Holiday Inn West I-565 and the Radisson Huntsville Airport. Each has more than 100 guest rooms, business meeting rooms, a fitness center, a pool and at least one restaurant, while Four Points offers two restaurants. Each also offers shuttle service to the nearby airport.
Westin Huntsville
The Westin Huntsville is a luxury hotel and conference center located in the Bridgestreet Town Centre part of the city. It has more than 200 rooms and approximately 10,000 square feet of meeting room space, including a single ballroom that is nearly 8,000 square feet. There is a fitness center and spa, an outdoor pool and a restaurant. The hotel is part of a larger development featuring upscale shopping, restaurants, offices and residences. It is located in the Cummings Research Park.
