A dog cage is not just for outside use. It's also a good idea for inside use. If you have a dog, you may have considered buying a dog cage. Here's buy and use a dog cage for your canine family member.

1. Determine the size of the dog cage you'll need. Dog cages come in sizes ranging from miniature poodle size to Labrador retriever size. Small dogs do better in bigger cages, however. If you have the budget to buy a larger cage, it'll help keep your pet happier.


2. Measure the space where you'll place the dog cage. Leave at least 2 to 3 feet around the cage to allow for proper breathing space and ventilation.


3. Search for a dog cage or pet kennel at pet stores for the best selections. Pet stores specialize in products for pets and can provide you with more information on choosing the right pet cage.


4. Assemble the pet cage or kennel according the instructions. Be sure to read them completely through before you start. Many companies offer instructions on their websites too.


5. Put your dog's bedding into the pet cage to make it more comfortable especially if the dog is there for a longer period. Make sure you put food and water in the cage with your dog.


6. Use the pet cage to prevent your younger dogs from chewing up carpet, shoes and even your cabinets. If you have guests who are not comfortable with dogs, use your pet cage to confine the dog while your company is visiting.
