Get Donations For An Adoption

Adopting a child is rewarding but the process can be draining.

Adoption can be a long process that can become a strain on the adopting parents financially. A community or local organization may be willing to assist the parents with donations to help fund their adoption process; however, it can be difficult for the parents to ask for help. Some parents may also be unsure as to go about asking for donations. Through the support of friends, family members, colleagues and even local community members, the prospective parents can procure donations to help move them forward in starting a family.

Instructions

1. Speak to local clergymen, priests and ministers at your local church or place of worship. Relay to them your situation and how important it is to you to start a family. Request that they ask for donations during a church service. They may also volunteer to donate the church collections to you after a service.

2. Partner with a local school or business to organize a bake sale. School's often hold bake sales for various causes throughout the year so by petitioning to be one of their selected causes, you could receive the collections as a donation. Inquire with local businesses to see if they are willing to donate and food or products to a bake sale.

3. Organize a neighborhood walk-a-thon. Relay your situation to your neighbors and ask them to participate. Each neighbor can receive sponsorship for each mile they walk from friends or family members, and the combined proceeds can be donated to help fund the adoption.

4. Inquire with your employer to see if they have any benefit programs designed for adoptive parents. Some companies have programs in place to help provide financial assistance to families going through the adoption process.

5. Apply for grants through adoption funding organizations such as HelpUsAdopt.org.
