Instructions

Finding Japanese Products in Los Angeles!

1. Go to Little Tokyo. Little Tokyo has countless Japanese stores, whether they are Sanrio-oriented toy shops or stationery shops or music shops, Little Tokyo has it all. Walking through this Japanese neighborhood in the midst of the Los Angeles downtown, you'll really feel like you stepped into the streets of a busy Tokyo urban area.

2. Stop by Torrance in Orange County. Torrance is a Japanese-American neighborhood. Anywhere you go in Torrance, you're bound to see countless Japanese restaurants and stores. Torrance also has two extremely large Japanese supermarkets; Mitsuwa and Marukai. Not only do both of these grocery stores have massive selections of food, they also contain clothing, stationery, music, video, household items, and more, for sale in other shops within the center as well.

3. Stop by Sawtelle Boulevard! In Santa Monica, there is a quiet, unassuming strip of Japanese restaurants and shops called Sawtelle. Be sure to check out some of the tiny, fashionable clothing boutiques. There are also a few video rental shops. Not to mention, a great (although smaller) Japanese grocery called Nijiya (literally, Rainbow Shop).

4. Check out various Korean and Chinese grocery stores around Los Angeles. There are quite a few of these, and they almost always stock a good amount of Japanese groceries, including snacks and canned foods. These are great places to get Japanese items if you are far away from the other specified Japanese neighborhoods.
