1. Scent marking is where a dog pees is a certain spot so to let other dogs know that this is there area. Dogs have a much better sense of smell than we do this is why they use this method. 4. What you want to do is to first clean the spot very well to get the smell up. It is important that you watch your dog the next time he gets ready to go there are do this you nee to distract him. You can use anything that makes noise this will help him to understand that he does not need to mark this area.
