The "Littlest Pet Shop" line of toys features figurines of both common and exotic animals. With expressive eyes and large eyes, the "Littlest Pet Shop" toys appeal to little girls especially. However, boys are also drawn to some of the animals, such as the reptiles, the insects and the bulldogs. Whether for a kids' animal-themed birthday party, or an all "Littlest Pet Shop" celebration, make your own centerpiece for the food table. Once the party is over, keep the centerpiece on display.
Instructions
1. Pick an animal theme. The theme of the centerpiece will dictate the design and the "Littlest Pet Shop" figurines you use. General themes include "cats and dogs" and "bugs." More specific themes include "at the zoo" and "pet store."
2. Design your centerpiece on paper -- you will find the experience easier if you make a blueprint first. Select a base for the centerpiece. A bowl, a box and even a cake can be the base for the centerpiece. Design the centerpiece around the base. Incorporate your theme into the design. For example, if you chose a jungle theme, include trees and vines. If you chose a vet's office waiting room theme, include a reception desk and waiting room chairs.
3. Purchase "Littlest Pet Shop" figurines or gather figurines you already have. Make sure they fit in with the theme of your centerpiece. A tiger figurine wouldn't fit in with a vet's office, for example.
4. Gather any other materials you need for your centerpiece. Use "Littlest Pet Shop" furniture if available, or purchase other doll accessories and furnishings if they're the correct size.
5. Color the base of the centerpiece. Use construction paper, paint or edible coloring, such as frosting.
6. Place the figurines and furnishings into the centerpiece according to your design. If you're using cake and frosting, the figurines will stick in place with the frosting. If you're making a permanent centerpiece, glue or tape the figurines into the setting.
