Foster parents act as a temporary parental guide for a child until the child's parents return or the child is adopted. 3. You must submit an application. The Cleveland support team will conduct a 10 minute interview with you and spouse (if applicable) and will notarize your application. Fingerprints will be taken for a background check.
4. Home study training involves several visits with a licensed social worker. The social worker will interview all household members and perform an inspection. The home study inspection makes sure all state and city safety regulations are met. Home study training will last 4 to 6 months and is the final indicator for obtaining a foster parent license in Cleveland, Ohio.
