The Code Of Ethics For Animal Rights

As living creatures, animals deserve proper care and respect.

Animal rights are an important set of guidelines meant to ensure animals are met with care, humane treatment and safe environments in which to live. Ultimately, animal rights request a code of fair, decent and ethical behavior by humans that benefits all members of the animal community.

Respect and Caring

Like human beings, animals deserve the right to be treated with respect and to be properly cared for. Treating animals with respect and caring goes beyond kindness. Animals should receive consideration, and equal rights similar to humans in most cases -- for instance, if an animal is hungry, it needs to be fed.

Promoting Healthful Lives

Animals should never be terrorized or subjected to ill treatment, as animals can be physically and emotionally injured. Animals can express anger, happiness or fear depending on their situation. It is the responsibility of humans to foster the good health of animals and to help those in need.

Safe Habitat

All animals should live in a safe habitat where they are able to thrive. Domesticated animals should be housed by responsible individuals or families who can provide adequate shelter, food and care. Wild animals should be able to live in their natural environments without the fear of being hunted or going hungry because scarcity of food and water.
