Donate Your Car To The Spca In California

SPCAs throughout California shelter homeless animals.

Pets bring continuous joy into their owner's life. However, far too many animals in California and across the nation have no home. If you love animals, you can help California's Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) animal welfare efforts by donating your car.

Contact

Contact the local branch of the SPCA to get the name and telephone number of its preferred auto donation partner. For example, the Central California SPCA uses Online Car Donation, the San Diego SPCA uses Charitable Auto Resources and the Sacramento SPCA uses Donate Local. Call the auto donation partner to arrange a time for the donation.

Considerations

To donate your car to the SPCA, the vehicle's title needs to be in your name--you can't donate someone else's car. If you can't find the car title, visit the California Department of Motor Vehicles branch nearest you to get a new title. Vehicles don't have to be in working condition. Before donating the car, remove personal belongings.

Benefits

SPCA locations throughout California provide care and shelter to homeless animals. They run adoption programs, give medical treatment to animals and educate the public about animal cruelty. Funds raised from the sale of your car help the SPCA complete these missions.
