Get Rid Of Gas In My Dog

Just like people, dogs can suffer from gas issues.

Just like people, dogs can have flatulence issues. The problem can be annoying and embarrassing for the people in the dog's life, and possibly uncomfortable for the four-legged one suffering with problematic gas. From veterinary treatments to home remedies, there are ways to help your dog find gas relief.

Instructions

1. Take your dog to the vet for a checkup to confirm she is not suffering from a medical problem, such as irritable bowel syndrome.

2. Limit or eliminate table food. Stay away from dairy products and soybeans. Feed your dog nutritious dog food of good quality. If you are changing dog foods, gradually introduce the new food, to avoid additional gas problems. Do not overfeed your dog.

3. Walk or run the dog on a regular basis, to keep weight within a normal range. Enjoy play time with your pet, so he doesn't become sedentary.

4. Provide a peaceful environment during meal time, so the dog is not eating too quickly or taking-in too much air, a common cause for gas. If you have another pet eating nearby and a fight for food prompts a race to the finish, feed the pets separately, to maintain calm.

5. Try a supplement. Activated charcoal, sold over the counter, can be given to your dog, but only for up to two days. Probiotic supplements and digestive enzymes have also been known to help ease gas issues in dogs. Speak to your vet before adding a supplement to your dog's diet.
